Was feeling very 'Joe Kubert' whist inking dudeman's face here.
And, while we're talking about it, Joe Kubert is FLIPPIN' AMAZING!!
Been looking at some DC hero work he did, and a bunch of the Unknown Soldier,
and even picked up an old issue of Ragman as well!! Really inspiring stuff.

Thought I'd pass along these 1970s NASA concept illustrations!!
Beautiful and spectacular and all around astonishing to look at, but also a reminder of how alluring the conquest of space used to be. You don't see much of this kind of practical imagination today, let alone painted.

Today's feature is a map of the Zodiac killers first four locations (victim sites). It was (and still is) difficult to communicate location, a (sort of) timeline, and (really) a narrative into one piece.
type is probably too small for web viewing.

First up is a comp assignment based on a previously published cover and interior from the New York Times Book Review.
And next is a fast (and I mean FAST) 6 pager detailing (a bit of) Italian comic book history. The text is still very "Wikipedia / dictionary" sounding, needs a couple of more edits to find a true marriage with the imagery.

It's not been cleaned at all, but the levels have been adjusted. A celebratory post as the finished inks for Issue 01 of The FieldHawk have been completed.
More announcements as they come.

I'm getting better at blogging I think. As a treat, here are selected panels (and one page) from my print sized roughs for FieldHawk.
